Ania received her B.S. in Biology from American University in Washington D.C. and her Masters in Genetic Counseling degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Prior to becoming a genetic counselor, she worked as a laboratory technologist both in cytogenetics and molecular genetics, thus giving her first-hand experience with the testing she discusses with her patients. Ania became a diplomate of the American Board of Genetic Counseling in 2007. She has been in practice as a prenatal genetic counselor for over 10 years. Ania has worked for Greater Washington Maternal-Fetal Medicine & Genetics for two years. Prior to this time, Ania worked as a prenatal genetic counselor in Ridgewood, New Jersey, and Annapolis, Maryland. She also worked at a cystic fibrosis clinic in Berlin, Germany. Ania speaks conversational German and fluent Polish. She currently lives in the DC area with her husband and three children. When not working, she enjoys spending time with her family and taking care of their foster dogs.
