Kate Bissell, a board-certified Women’s Health Care Nurse Practitioner, received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Clemson University and earned her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She is an active member of the National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health (NPWH) and Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine (SMFM). She has clinical experience in obstetrics and gynecology, urogynecology, advanced gynecology, breast health and primary care.
Prior to joining GWMFM, Kate worked as a nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, where she oversaw the unit’s safety and success as a charge nurse, served as a dedicated member of the MedStar flight transport team, and cared for critically ill infants with a range of genetic diagnoses, conditions, and prematurity.
Kate is a Bethesda native and currently resides in the area with her husband, Mark. She enjoys being active outdoors, trying new cuisines, and spending time with her family, friends, and dog.
